DENVER, Colo. (October 30, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team secured its spot at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament following a 0-0 double overtime draw Friday at MSU Denver.

The ThunderWolves earned the right to host a RMAC Tournament Quarterfinal match on Thursday at 6 p.m. with the opponent still to be determined.

CSU Pueblo came away with one conference point against the Roadrunners after putting up eleven shots and four of those landing on goal. Nazar Deputat (Sr., Ocala, Fla.) finished tied for the overall lead in shots as he recorded four shots and two landing on frame. 

In the match, MSU Denver fired 12 shots and the ThunderWolves earned five corners.

"Really impressed with our character and ability to compete," said CSU Pueblo Head Coach Oliver Twelvetrees. "It's been a tough final stretch of the season with 4 games in nine days. To keep a clean sheet and stay undefeated in this stretch was very impressive."

CSU Pueblo created numerous chances at the net and their best scoring chance came at several times throughout the second half.

Pack goalkeeper Garret Wild (Jr., Brownsville, Tex.) made three saves at the net, helping the Pack preserve the shutout.

Twelvetrees added, "We struggled to get our attacking cohesion going against a very well organized and prepared team. But we didn't give up and secured what we came here to get and that's a home playoff match for our program."
