Rosenbrock honored as D2 CCA South Central Region Scholar-Athlete of the Year

CLEVELAND (Sept. 4, 2020) – Colorado State University Pueblo Football Linebacker Kyle Rosenbrock (Sr., Brush, Colo.) has been named the 2019-20 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) South Central Region Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

In July, Rosenbrock earned the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award.

The senior linebacker posted a 3.94 GPA. He accomplished this high GPA as an Engineering major. 
 
Rosenbrock earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America First Team honors in 2019. Rosenbrock received CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2019, as well.
 
Rosenbrock gathered First Team Academic All-RMAC honors in each of the last three seasons. He received a spot on the RMAC's All-Academic Honor Roll as a redshirt freshman. The linebacker claimed First Team All-RMAC honors in 2019.

THE 2019 DEFENSE
 
The Pack defense finished the regular season first in NCAA Division II in interceptions (26), sacks (3.82 spg) and defensive touchdowns (9), second in turnovers gained (32), fourth in rushing defense (60.9 ypg), fifth in scoring defense (14.5 ppg) and eighth in team passing efficiency defense (96.93). The Pack were 18th in the nation in total defense (287 ypg) at the end of the regular season.
 
After two playoff games, the Pack finished with 30 interceptions to break the school record for picks in a season and lead all of Division II.
 
Defensive Coordinator Donnell Leomiti was named the AFCA NCAA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year. 
 
THE 2019 THUNDERWOLVES
 
After a 10-1 (9-1 RMAC) regular season, the ThunderWolves earned the No. 4 seed in Super Region Four and the right to host an NCAA Playoffs First Round game. The Pack finished the season 11-2 after defeating Augustana University 17-0 in the first round. In round two, the Pack suffered a 35-7 loss at No. 4 Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Pack started and finished the regular season ranked No. 9 in the AFCA poll. CSU-Pueblo made its third consecutive trip to the postseason and seventh since 2011. In those seven appearances, the ThunderWolves reached at least the second round on six occasions. The Pack recorded at least 11 wins for the seventh time in program history, all since 2011.
