ThunderWolves Picked to finish 2nd in RMAC Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (September 10, 2020) – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Coaches voted Colorado State University Pueblo Men's Golf to finish second in the conference's preseason poll.
 
Four ThunderWolves were also named Players to Watch in the RMAC's Preseason poll. Clay Kucera, Nathan McCann, Andrew Ni, and Jamie Roberts all received this preseason recognition from the RMAC.
 
The Pack finished the 2019-20 season ranked No. 21 in the GolfStat D-II rankings. CSU Pueblo defeated 10 ranked teams in their final tournament of last season, the Las Vegas Desert Classic.
 
Kucera (Jr., Chaska, Minn.) put together a strong first season with the ThunderWolves.  He posted a 73.50 stroke average in 2019-20. Kucera placed 10th at the St. Edward's Fall Classic.
 
McCann (Jr., Lurgan Armagh, Ireland) qualified for the 2019 NCAA Regional Tournament as an individual. He also earned First Team All-RMAC honors in 2019. McCann is also a two-time All-RMAC Academic Honor Roll recipient.
 
McCann ranks second in school history with a 72.93 stroke average. He is also a former two-time RMAC Golfer of the Week.
 
Ni (Jr., Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) earned D-II Ping GolfStat All-American honors in 2019-20. He wrapped up the season ranked No. 17 in the GolfStat Individual rankings. Ni finished the year as the RMAC's top ranked golfer.
 
In 2019-20, Ni set a school record with a 71.20 stroke average.  Ni finished in the top 5 in four of his five tournaments in 2019-20.
 
Roberts (Fr., Kinross, Scotland, UK) had an impressive first season with the Pack. He finished the year with a 73.60 stroke average.
 
In his true freshman season, Roberts played six rounds below par. He totaled two top 20 finishes.
 
The ThunderWolves also return Sam Barthram (Jr., Surrey, Weybridge, England, UK), Austin Burgess (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Sanjay Nithiyalngam (So., Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England,UK). Barthram earned RMAC Academic Golfer of the Year honors in 2020 with a 3.98 GPA.
 
Matt Millar (Fr., Devon, England, UK) will debut for the Pack in 2020-21. Millar won Devon's Amateur Championship.
 
The Pack will start the season with the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational at Walking Stick Golf Course. The Pack's home tournament will be held Oct.5-6.
