Football finishes 11th in NCAA Division II in home attendance for second straight year

PUEBLO, Colo. (June 3, 2020) – The Colorado State University Pueblo football program finished 11th in NCAA Division II home attendance average and were seventh in total attendance for 2019. The ThunderWolves hosted seven home games and totaled 42,643 fans to average 6,092 fans per game. 
 
The Pack were by far the leaders in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with the second place institution averaging 3,791 fans per game.  
 
CSU Pueblo football has finished in the top 20 for average attendance every year except one since the restart of the program in 2008. The ThunderWolves finished 11th last year in average attendance and had their best finish in 2008 with an average of 7,853 fans for 10th.
 
The 42,643 fans this year was the fifth most in ThunderBowl history. The Pack played seven games at home in 2019 and posted a 6-1 record, which included a 24-17 victory against No. 11 Texas A&M University-Commerce and a 17-0 shutout of Augustana University in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs. 
 
CSU Pueblo Athletics plans to sell 2020 season tickets, with new COVID-19 guidelines in place, in July. The ThunderWolves still plan to host Grand Valley State University Sept. 12 for the home opener.
