HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (June 29,2020) - Due to new restrictions and directives regarding COVID-19 from the Governor's Office and the health department, the 2020 Colorado High School Coaches Association All-State Games, which were scheduled to take place on the campus of Colorado State University Pueblo, have been canceled.
CHSCA Statement:
Together with CSU Pueblo and Athletic Director Paul Plinske and his staff, we did everything we could to make this happen, and we had already completed everything needed to proceed with the games.
We were ready and remained optimistic that the last pieces would fall into place. We are extremely saddened to not have this opportunity to give these athletes one last time representing their high schools on the field, court and mat.
Though the 64
th All-State Games will not be able to take place, we recognize and celebrate each of the athletes and coaches who earned the honor of participating in this prestigious event.
Statement from CSU Pueblo Director of Athletics Dr. Paul Plinske:
CSU Pueblo was very excited to host the 2020 CHSCA All-State Games. We made every attempt to ensure that a safe and successful event could continue amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, there were too many obstacles to overcome and we are saddened that this annual event won't occur this summer. We are very sorry for the athletes, coaches and staff who won't have the opportunity to experience the 2020 Games, but we are fully committed to the return of the Games in 2021 and beyond.
