Pack MLAX looks to tame Panthers in home opener Sunday

PUEBLO, Colo. (March 6, 2020) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse will take the field at home for the first time in 2020 when they host Davenport University Sunday at 11 a.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The ThunderWolves enter the weekend 0-2 after taking losses against Westminster College and No. 15 Colorado Mesa University. The Pack is averaging 8.5 goals per game.

Skylar Weathers (So., Ogden, Utah) leads the Pack with five goals on the season. Weathers matched a career-high with four goals in the Pack's game at the Mavericks.

Connor Owen (Fr., Keller, Texas) has delivered a team-best 3.0 points per game. Owen has four goals and two assists. He ranks fifth in the RMAC in points per game.
 
Cornelius Healy (Fr., Keller, Texas) ranks second in the RMAC with 1.5 caused turnovers per game. Healy has two ground balls on the season.

Tommy Vassallo (Sr., Sarasota, Fla.) shares the Pack's lead with two assists. Vassallo has four points on the season with two goals.

Freshmen Trenton Steele (Littleton, Colo.) and Logan Wells (Centennial, Colo.) each have two goals on the season. Jacob Muir (So., Ogden, Utah) and Logan Naves (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) each have a goal on the season.

Muir leads the Pack with 3.5 ground balls per game. Turner Dirk (Fr., Strathmore, Alberta, Canada), Matt Lutz (So., Austin, Texas), and Tavian Watson (Sr., Aurora, Colo.) all average 2.5 ground balls per game.

Scouting Davenport
The Panthers stand 0-4 entering the weekend where they will face both the Pack and Adams State University. In their first season as a D-II program, the Panthers lost to the Mavericks Thursday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium. Blake Gibson-McDonald leads the Panthers with a 12 points and seven assists.
