PUEBLO, Colo. (October 8, 2020) - Colorado State University Pueblo Swimming & Diving will host its season opener and senior day meet Saturday, Oct. 10 when the ThunderWolves welcome Adams State University and Western Colorado University to the Sam Jones Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 11:30 a.m.

Although it will be Senior Day, no fans will be allowed in the Sam Jones Aquatic Center for the health and safety of the competing student-athletes, coaches and CSU Pueblo Athletics staff. All competing individuals will conduct symptom/temperature screening prior to competing and will follow additional safety protocol established in partnership with public health officials.

Saturday's meet will celebrate the careers of seniors
Bristyn Croswhite,
Shion Ienaga, and
Kate Miller. Croswhite (Tempe, Ariz.) has earned a spot on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's All-Academic Honor Roll in each of the last two seasons.
Ienaga (Phoenix, Ariz.) has thrived in the distance events for the Pack. She also set a personal best in the 100 Breast last season with a time of 1:21.85 at the UNK Open.
Miller (Draper, Utah) set a school record of 32.27 in the 50 Breast. She has led the Pack's Breaststroke efforts for the last three seasons.
Saturday's meet will also bring the return of
Natalie Rotondo (So., Aurora, Colo.) to the Pack. Rotondo set a school record of 57.06 in the 100 Fly. She also owns a program record of 2:06.00 in the 200 Back. She is also a former RMAC Swimmer of the Week.
Julia Whitfield (Jr., Wichita, Kan.) will look to reclaim the Pack's record in the 100 Free. Whitfield currently holds the Pack's fourth and fifth fastest times in program history in the event. She also helped the Pack to its times in the 200, 400, and 800 Free Relays.
Jillian Abrian (So., Ladera Ranch, Calif.) also helped the Pack set its school record of 1:37.00 in the 200 Free relay. Abrian will also help bolster the Pack's diving corps this season.
Holly Humphries (So., Cypress, Texas) will also lead the Pack's diving squad.
Mckenna Hauber (So., Gillette, Wyo.) contributed to the Pack's school record in the 400 Free relay and 800 Free relay. Hauber won three races as a freshman. She will again make an impact for the Pack in the distance and IM events.
Newcomer
Kristina Copeland (Jr., Sanger, Calif.) is also expected to make an impact for the Pack in the distance events. She won the on the 2019 Bay Valley Conference Championship in the 200 Free, the 500 Free, and the 1650 Free.
Alyssa Grunloh (Jr., Round Rock, Texas) and
Erin Mabry (So., Mesa, Ariz.) will once again take center stage in the fly events.
Kristen Wolf (So., Topeka, Kan.) will challenge Miller for the Pack's top breaststroke spot.
Sophomores
Melissa Braddock,
Kayla Chavez, and
Vivica Craig all return for the Pack. Braddock (Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, UK) will also look for success in the distance events.
Chavez (So., Las Vegas, Nev.) hopes to shine in the backstroke. Craig (So., North Las Vegas, Nev.) helped the Pack swim its fifth-fastest 400 Free relay time in program history.
Five freshman are expected to make their debuts for the Pack this weekend.
Alyssa Basaldua (Katy, Texas) is expected to add depth for the Pack in the sprint and mid-distance events.
Lena Hirota (Chandler, Ariz.) will compete in the fly events.
Kristin Miller (Draper, Utah) and
Maggie Wise (Longmont, Colo.) will both swim freestyle events.
Katy Zimmerman (Cypress, Texas) is expected to make an impact in in the distance events.
Entering their seventh season as a program, the Pack look will look to improve on their seventh place finish at last season's RMAC Championships.
Brian Pearson's ThunderWolves went 2-6 last season. They have won their last five meetings with the Grizzlies.
