LAS CRUCES, N.M. (January 4, 2020) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving fell to NCAA Division I opponent New Mexico State University 149-79 Saturday in the Pack's annual training trip meet.
The Pack won three events Saturday. CSU-Pueblo took first in the 200 Free Relay. The team of
Selina Wang (Fr., Taipei, Taiwan),
Jillian Abrian (Fr., Ladera Ranch, Calif.),
Julia Whitfield (So., Wichita, Kan.), and
Phobe Pontious (Sr., Caledonia, Mich.) swam a time of 1:50.01 to bring 11 points to the Pack.
Holly Humphries (Fr., Cypress, Texas) won the three-meter dive with a score of 1:93.05. The win was Humphries' first career victory.
Sarah Steele (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) took second with a score of 180.75.
Madison Ortega (So., Pueblo, Colo.) finished third.
Kate Miller (Jr., Draper, Utah) collected her second win in as many meets. Miller touched the wall first in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:12.47.
Kristen Wolf (Fr. Topeka, Kan.) placed second with a time of 1:17.28.
Rashelle Freeman (Fr., Temecula, Calif.) took third (1:19.28).
Pontious (Sr., Caledonia, Mich.) finished third in the 50 Free with a time of 25.06. She was also the Pack's top finisher in the 100 Fly (1:04.03).
CSU-Pueblo is now 2-6 in duals this season. The Pack will compete again Jan. 17-19 at the Colorado College Classic.
