Men's soccer hits road to wrap nonconference schedule

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 11, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer will hit the road for the first time this season when the travel to play at Newman University Thursday in Wichita, Kan. and the Pack will finish the week off Saturday at No. 21 Rogers State in Claremore, Okla.

Coming off a pair of losses at home against two nationally ranked opponents in No. 9 West Texas A&M and No. 14 Midwestern State University Texas, the ThunderWolves will face their third ranked opponent on the young season Saturday against Rogers State.

Dominik Huetgens (So., Mid., Halstenbek, Germany) totaled three points on the week, as he picked up an assist in the season opener, a 2-1 loss against WTAMU and scored the lone goal for the ThunderWolves' Sunday, a 2-1 defeat versus the Mustangs.

Freshman Vinzent Zingel (F., Aachen, Germany) recorded his first goal as a member of the Pack Thursday against the Buffs.

The ThunderWolves and their weekend opponents are no strangers as the teams have met on the pitch numerous times in nonconference play. Against Newman, the Pack are 3-1 since 2015 including a 1-0 win at home a season ago. Against Rogers, the Pack holds a 1-1 record over the past three seasons.

In Sight for the Pack

CSU-Pueblo will return home and begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Sept. 20 versus Adams State University. The Pack will play their first RMAC road contest Sept. 22 at Colorado Mesa University.
