PUEBLO, Colo. (April 5, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo softball remains at home this week and will battle Adams State University in a four-game RMAC series at Rawlings Softball Complex. Game one Saturday is slated for a 12 p.m. first pitch.
Promotion
Both teams will wear alternative jerseys in honor of Cancer Awareness Day at the ball park. CSU-Pueblo will wear yellow jerseys in honor of childhood cancer and Adams State will don teal jerseys to support prostate cancer.Â
Fans will have a chance to show their support and write who they "play for" on various ribbon and post on to the fence.
Setting The Stage
The Pack returns to the field after going 1-3 last week at home against Colorado Christian.
Taylor Strupp (Fr., San Tan Valley, Ariz.) picked up the win in the circle of a 5-4 Pack win in ten innings. Strupp earned the win after coming on in relief with two outs in the seventh and getting a strikeout to send the game to extra frames.
Marissa Piatt (So., San Luis Obispo, Calif.) stepped up with one out in the home half of the tenth and slugged a single to center field to plate the winning run.
OPPONENT CAPSULE
Colorado Christian enters the weekend with a 6-15 conference mark and is 6-27 overall. Last time on the field, ASU lost two games at MSU Denver. The Grizzlies are led by Brittany Phillips who holds a .328 average. In the circle, Phillips guides the staff with a 2-9 record and 7.82 ERA.
