RAPID CITY, S.D. (April 27, 2019) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women's track and field programs competed well on day two of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships in Rapid City, S.D. To highlight the group, junior
Lauren Fairchild (McKinney, Texas) earned an RMAC Championship in the long jump.
Fairchild leaped 5.98m (19' 7.5") to guide the Pack on day two. The indoor NCAA Champion earned the RMAC Outdoor Championship and collected 10 team points. The ThunderWolves women totaled 13 points in the event, as junior
Reagan Andrews (San Pedro, Calif.) was seventh with a leap of 5.78m (18' 11.75") and senior
Tatianna Clanton (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was eighth with a mark of 5.75m (18' 10.5").
The women are third entering day three with 23 points.
Sophomore
Liz Lockhart (Los Alamos, N.M.) helped contribute to the team points with a third place finish in the hammer throw. Her toss of 46.59m (152" 10') was good for third to score six points.
Freshman
Claire Pauley (Arvada, Colo.) gathered four team points when she finished fifth with a personal-best time of 37:51.14 in the 10,000m race.
The men have four points, as senior
Jacob Smith (Strasburg, Colo.) finished fifth in the decathlon with 6,021 points. He had a strong second day in the multi event, as he moved up from seventh after day one and won on the final event, the 1500m run with at time of 4:46.04.
