4/26/2019 8:26:00 PM

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (April 26, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis closed the season as the No. 4 seed falling to the No. 1 seed Metro State University of Denver Friday at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The ThunderWolves (1-20) were swept out of the tournament in the first round, 4-0. The Pack was forced to forfeit the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles due to a lack of players, which enabled the Roadrunners (13-9) to win just one doubles match and two singles matches to clinch the bout.

Senior Nia Matthews (Houston, Texas) and Kali Hamilton (Grapevine, Texas) were in a battle at No. 1 doubles, trailing just 4-5 before the No. 2 doubles match finished.

Sophomore Emily Sproston (Warrington, UK) was the closest to winning a set in singles play, as she lost the first set 6-4 and was down 3-1 in the second set before the match ended.
