GOLDEN, Colo. (April 22, 2019) - A group from the Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women's track and field programs headed to Golden, Colorado Saturday to compete at the Nature's Bakery Invite, hosted by Colorado School of Mines.
Junior
Reagan Andrews (San Pedro, Calif.) produced an NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump to lead the Pack. She jumped 11.87m (38' 11.5") to earn the NCAA mark and finish first in the event. Freshman
Emma Sommer (Cologne, Germany) was second in the triple jump with her mark of 11.22m (36' 9.75"), while junior Angelina Martin (Littleton, Colo.) was third with a personal best jump of 10.72m (35' 2").
Freshmen
Iyana Harper (Alamogordo, N.M.) and
Malyka Medina (Alamosa, Colo.) finished first and and second, respectfully, in the 100m dash with times of 12.70 and 12.77. The time was a personal best for Medina.
In the 200m dash, Sommer was second with a personal best time of 26.16, while Andrews crossed the finish line in 27.08 to place third. Media posted another PR when she ws fourth with a time of 27.10.
Freshman
Claire Pauley (Arvada, Colo.) was second in the 5000m run when she clocked a time of 19:37.
In the throws area, sophomore
Liz Lockhart (Los Alamos, N.M.) was third in the hammer throw when she produced a personal best mark of 50.39m (165' 4"). Freshman
Mariah Smith (Eads, Colo.) placed third in the discuss with her top toss of 36.84m (120' 10").
On the men's side, freshman
Justin Dwinell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was runner-up in the 100m dash with a personal best time of 11.30.
The 4x400m relay squad placed second with a time of 3:33.78. The group was comprised of four freshmen in
Tanner Vaughn (Arvada, Colo.),
Jordan Chavez (Leadville, Colo.),
D'Ante Giles (Fountain, Colo.) and
Evan Demerson (Houston, Texas).
In the 400m dash, Demerson ran to a personal best time of 49.69 to finish third.
Sophomore
Nate Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.) placed second in the discus with his top throw reaching 48.15m (158' 0"). Freshman
Justin Jenks (Helena, Mont.) was fourth in the event with his top toss reaching 45.68m (149' 10"). Miller was also fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.0m (154' 2").
