PUEBLO, Colo. (April 10, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis team was schedule to close the home portion of their schedule April 12-13 at Pueblo City Park. The ThunderWolves host Tarleton State University Friday at 2 p.m., but their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match against Metropolitan State University of Denver Saturday, has been rescheduled to April 23 at 2 p.m. due to weather. That match will be played at Pueblo City Park.Â
The Pack are 1-17 overall and 0-1 in RMAC play. CSU-Pueblo opened league play Friday at home against Dixie State University and fell, 6-1. SophomoreÂ
Kali Hamilton (Grapevine, Texas) picked up the win at No. 2 singles when her opponent forfeited due to injury in the second set. She won the first set 7-5 before the injury.
Saturday, the ThunderWolves lost 6-1 to Colorado Mesa University. Senior
 Nia Matthews (Houston, Texas) won twice, as she earned a big three-set victory at No. 1 singles to claim the lone team point. After losing the first set 3-6, Matthews edged out Kristen Kirby, who is the RMAC Preseason Player of the Year, in the second set tiebreak by a 7-5 margin to claim the set 7-6. The two played a third set tiebreak where Matthews was victorious, 10-6.
Matthews and Hamilton paired up at the No. 1 doubles position and won, 6-3.
Before the match Saturday, the ThunderWolves will honor Matthews as the lone senior on this year's team.
Tarleton State ranks No. 32 in the latest national poll by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and holds an 8-5 overall record with a 2-2 mark in Lone Star Conference play. The TexAnns have lost two straight by a 4-3 result. First was a loss at home to Cameron University, March 26, then a setback on the road at University of Texas-Kingsville, March 29. TSU is 1-3 on the road this season.
Five players have at least seven wins in singles play this season, guided by nine victories by both Neetika Sud and Nathalie Ulander. Sud is 9-4, all at the No. 2 spot and has won six straight, while Ulander is 9-3 at No. 5. The TexAnns have sent out nine different doubles combinations and the pairing of Shelby Fillingame and Ulander have the most wins with a 4-2 record.

MSU Denver is 10-9 overall and have won three straight, which includes starting the RMAC season 2-0. The Roadrunners opened league play Friday at home and defeated CMU, 7-0. Saturday the Roadrunners hosted Dixie State and edged the Trailblazers by a score of 4-3.

Tabitha Porter is the reigning RMAC Player of the Week after going 6-0 last week during the team's run of three wins. She leads the team with 17 singles wins, which includes a 10-8 record at the No. 1 spot. The pairing of Alex Pessoa and Helena Steenberg have a 6-4 record at the No. 1 doubles position. Porter and Mackenzie Hotan are 7-3 at No. 2.
The ThunderWolves will travel to Colorado Mesa April 19 to close the regular season and play their last league match before the RMAC Tournament in Grand Junction, Colorado, set for April 26-27.
