PUEBLO, Colo. (March 5, 2019) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis team begins the home slate of the spring season March 6 when Concordia University, Nebraska comes to town. The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at Pueblo City Park.
The ThunderWolves are looking for their first win of the season. The Pack are 0-5 in spring competition, but closed the University of Texas-Permian Basin Invite by getting a set win against the hosts. JuniorÂ
Sarah Megilligan (Pueblo West, Colo.) picked up that win at No. 4 singles. After splitting the first two sets (5-7 and 6-2), Megilligan won 11-9 in the third set tiebreak.
The Bulldogs, of the NAIA, are 3-2 this season and most recently lost to Ottawa University by the score of 8-1.
Following Wednesday's home match the Pack take back to the road for three matches at the MSU Texas Invite March 8-9, hosted by Midwestern State University. Friday, CSU-Pueblo will battle Cameron University starting at 8 a.m. MT and will then battle Angelo State University at 2 p.m. MT. The ThunderWolves wrap the weekend Saturday against the host Mustangs beginning at 1 p.m. MT.

Cameron is 0-6 this season, but are receiving votes in the Feb. 20 ITA national poll and ranked No. 3 in the January regional poll. Most recently the Auggies suffered a 4-1 setback to University of St. Mary's March 1. In the final fall individual rankings, Zhenia Shviadok ranks No. 5 nationally and Sarah Frendo is No. 32. The duo ranks No. 6 in Division II as a doubles pair.
Angelo State is 7-2 this season and went 1-1 last weekend at home against University of Central Oklahoma (1-4) and Oklahoma Baptist University (4-0). The Belles are No. 8 in the regional poll. Valentina Gonzalez ranks No. 42 in Division II.
No. 14 MSU Texas has played just two countable matches this spring and have defeated No. 14 Northeastern State University (6-1) and No. 21 St. Mary's (5-2). The Mustangs rank No. 2 in the South Central Region. Maddy Coffman ranks No. 16 nationally. Coffman and Ashley Ramirez are No. 22 in DII as a doubles pair.
