Pack MLAX returns home to host NDU Saturday, battles Southwestern Friday

PUEBLO, Colo. (March 28, 2019) -  Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse will compete against Southwestern University Friday at 1 p.m. at the Aurora Sports Complex. The ThunderWolves will return home to face Notre Dame De Namur University Saturday at 5 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The ThunderWolves own a 3-3 record. They went 0-3 against teams receiving votes in Florida last week. The Pack is 1-0 at home with a 12-11 win against Adams State March 2.

CSU-Pueblo leads the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with a 53.1 save percentage. The Pack's 15.83 saves per game leads the RMAC and ranks sixth in D-II. They average over four saves per game more than anyone else.

Colton Rasmussen (So., Great Falls, Mont.) leads the RMAC with a 57.1 save percentage. Rasmussen also leads the RMAC with 12.0 saves per game

Offensively, Taylor Davis (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) leads the RMAC with 3.83 goals per game. Davis, a two-time RMAC Offensive Player of the Week ranks seventh in D-II in goals per game. He ranks third in the RMAC with 4.17 points per game. Davis needs 14 points to pass Blake Foerster for the program record.

Defensively, the ThunderWolves are led by Parker Evans (So., Bentonville, Ark.). Evans has forced 1.83 turnovers per game, the most in the RMAC. Evans ranks 25th in D-II in caused turnovers per game. He stands fifth in the RMAC with 3.67 ground balls per game.

Jacob Muir (Fr., Ogden, Utah) leads the RMAC with 5.83 ground balls per game. He ranks 33rd in D-II in ground balls. Muir ranks second among full-time faceoff specialists in the RMAC, winning 52.9 percent of his draws.

Anthony Ferrie (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) ranks fifth in the RMAC with 1.33 assists per game and 3.33 points per game. Ferrie has scored 2.0 goals per game, fourth-most in the RMAC.

Tommy Vassallo (Jr., Sarasota, Fla.) ranks second in the RMAC with 1.50 assists per game. Vassallo ranks sixth in the RMAC with 2.83 points per game. Skyler Weathers (Fr., Ogden, Utah) ranks seventh in the RMAC with 1.50 goals per game.  

As a team, the Pack causes 10.83 turnovers per game. The ThunderWolves lead the RMAC and rank 10th in D-II in caused turnovers per game. Faurest Vedral (Fr., Scottsdale, Ariz.) ranks seventh in the conference with 1.17 caused turnovers per game.

Scouting Southwestern University:
The Pirates stand 7-4 overall. They have won three of their last four. This will be their first meeting with the Pack.

Scouting NDNU:
The Argos enter the weekend 1-7. The Pack beat the Argos 25-10 (March 10). CSU-Pueblo leads the all-time series 3-0.
