BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 22, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse could not pull off an upset of Lynn University Friday as the Knights overcame the Pack 16-6.
Anthony Ferrie (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) fired in two of the Pack's six goals. He also handed out an assist.
Skylar Weathers (Fr., Ogden, Utah) also totaled two goals. He now has three multi-goal games this season.
Parker Evans (So., Bentonville, Ark.) corralled a career-high seven ground balls. Evans also forced one of the Pack's four caused turnovers.
Colton Rasmussen (So., Great Falls, Mont.) stopped 22 of the 37 shots he faced. He finished with a 59.4 save percentage and three ground balls.
Tavian Watson (Jr., Aurora, Colo.) scored his second career goal at LSM. Watson also had a ground ball and a caused turnover.
Jacob Muir (Fr., Ogden, Utah) scored his first career goal. Muir finished with three ground balls.
Caleb Cole (Fr., Houston, Texas),
Isaiah Parker (Fr., Windsor, Colo.), and
Tommy Vassallo (Jr., Sarasota, Fla.) all handed out assists.
The Pack fell behind early as the Knights raced out to a 4-0 lead. Ferrie answered with a pair of goals, including one man-up goal to cut the Knights lead to 4-2 after one.
Watson stopped a 2-0 Knights run to make it 6-3. Each team got one more goal before the break as Weathers netted his first of the day to make it 7-4 at halftime.
Weathers put in a feed from Cole to give the Pack its first goal of the second half to keep the Knights within three. After a Knights goal, Muir found the back of the net for the first time to make it 9-6.
However, the Knights would score the final seven goals to run away with a 16-6 win. They held the Pack scoreless in the fourth.
With the loss, CSU-Pueblo evened its record at 3-3. The Pack will look to get back on track when they face College of the Southwest at 1 p.m. Friday in Denver.
