ThunderWolves swept by Trailblazers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 PUEBLO, Colo. (March 10, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo softball dropped a four-game series against RMAC-newcomer Dixie State over the weekend at Rawlings Softball Complex.

Saturday in the series opener, the ThunderWolves took a one-hit scoreless affair into the seventh before Dixie State scored five unanswered runs in the seventh inning.

In Sunday's game one, CSU-Pueblo scored two runs in their first at bat on back-to-back homeruns by Michaela Burpee (Sr., Union City, Calif.) and Marissa Piatt (So., San Luis Obispo, Calif.).

The Pack added to the lead in the second on a solo shot from Jordan Sheard (Sr., Broomfield, Colo.).

For the series, the Pack was led by Piatt and Sabrina Felix (Jr., Corona, Calif.) who both collected three hits in the series.

Burpee led the team with a .417 on-base percentage. She was hit by pitch a whopping four times over the four games.

Following the series, Burpee is now one hit shy of reaching the top ten in hits at CSU-Pueblo. She is four shy in homeruns and RBIs from reaching the top five in program history.

As a team, the ThunderWolves hit three homeruns and finished with 16 hits in the series.

CSU-Pueblo (1-13, 0-10) begins a 10-game road trip starting next week at New Mexico Highlands. The Pack and Cowgirls will play a four-game RMAC series beginning Saturday at noon at NMHU Softball Field.
