Pack welcomes Black Hills and Regis for pod series at Rawlings Complex

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 28, 2019) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team will open the home portion of its schedule earlier than expected due to weather around the region, and welcomes Black Hills State and Regis University for a pod style series Friday and Saturday at Rawlings Softball Complex.

The ThunderWolves are back on the diamond after starting Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play last week at UCCS. The Pack was swept in the four-game series and will look to bounce back against the Yellow Jackets and Rangers.

Through eight games this season, the ThunderWolves are led by Michaela Burpee (Union City, Calif.) who is batting .417 and Marissa Piatt (So., San Luis Obispo, Calif.) who enter the week with a .381 batting average and her two homeruns leads the team.

OPPONENT CAPSULES

Black Hills State enters the weekend with a 4-7 record overall and hold a 1-2 conference record. The Yellow Jackets opened RMAC play losing two of three against Colorado School of Mines. BHSU is led by Kindall Bethke with a .444 batting average. In the circle, Alex Wiley has picked up three wins and holds a 4.68 ERA.

Regis comes to town with a 5-4 record overall and began conference play at home against New Mexico Highlands, winning two-of-three against the Cowgirls.

The Rangers are led offensively by Carly Beard with a .444 batting average. In the circle, Taylor Armitage is 2-3 with a 5.28 ERA.
