PUEBLO, Colo. (Feb. 4, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team is ranked No. 7 heading into the final week of dual and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition, as the new set of NCAA Division II National Wrestling Coaches Association rankings were released Monday. The ThunderWolves are preparing to host Colorado Mesa University Thursday for the final home dual and Senior Day beginning at 6 p.m.

The Pack (10-4, 4-1 RMAC) have four wrestlers placed in the nation's top six in the fourth regular season rankings of 2018-19. D'Andre Brumfield (R-Jr., Dallas, Texas) remained at the No. 2 spot and owns a 17-4 overall record and a 12-1 mark in dual competition. Two wrestlers sit at No. 5, as Haszell West (R-Jr., Portland, Ore.) moved up two spots at 197 and remains perfect at 16-0. New to the national rankings is Jasiah Williams (R-So., Portland, Ore.) at 149. He is No. 5 with a 4-2 record (two falls).

Jasiah's older brother Tarrence Williams (Sr., Portland, Ore.) moved up a spot to No. 6 at 184 and owns a 5-0 record.

The ThunderWolves were tied for No. 7 in the last rankings, while the Pack sit at No. 9 in the first edition of the national dual rankings the committee has created.

CSU-Pueblo fell to No. 18 University of Central Oklahoma in its last dual 29-12, but won its most recent RMAC bout 23-11 at home against Colorado School of Mines. One conference loss has the Pack in a four-way tie for first in the RMAC standings with Mines (5-1), Adams State University (5-1) and Western Colorado University (3-1).

The Mavericks are 8-7 overall and 2-2 in RMAC duals. CMU went 1-1 last week with a 21-19 loss to Adams State and a 37-6 victory against New Mexico Highlands University. CMU has one wrestler ranked, as Eduardo Penha sits No. 10 at 141.

Following Thursday's bout, the ThunderWolves will travel to Western to wrap the dual season in Gunnison, Colorado.

The Mountaineers are No. 14 nationally in the new rankings (No 19 in the previous rankings) and have two wrestlers in the top 10. Western has a 11-4 overall record and are 3-1 in league play.  The Mountaineers are 3-1 in their last four duals, which includes defeating NMHU 50-0 Saturday. At 174, Brandon Supernaw is No. 1 after securing third at nationals a season ago. Konnor Schmidt sits No. 5 at 184.

Poll Methodology: This is a tournament-power index ranking. The poll is not based on a team's dual strength. TPI Point Totals are broken down by the following individual rankings: 1st=20pts, 2nd=16pts, 3rd=13pts, 4th=12pts, 5th=10pts, 6th=9pts, 7th=7pts, 8th=6pts, 9th=4pts, 10th=3pts, 11th=2pts, 12th=1pt. The TPI point totals will be lower than the final actual NCAA Championship points because it does not include bonus points.
