PUEBLO, Colo. (Feb. 27, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's basketball team closes the 2018-19 season with a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference home game March 1 against New Mexico Highlands University at Massari Arena beginning at 7:30 p.m. The evening will serve as Senior Night for
Gavin Liggett (Limon, Colo.).
LAST TIME OUT
• CSU-Pueblo is 6-21 with a 4-17 RMAC record. The ThunderWolves are coming off an 0-2 home weekend against Chadron State (70-62) and MSU Denver (76-62). The Pack have lost six straight.
• The ThunderWolves shot just 33.3 percent from the field, but held the visiting Eagles to 37.5 percent. CSC hit just one 3-pointer out of 14 attempts, while the Pack had seven from long range. Both teams got to the line, as Chadron State went 27-for-34 (79.4%) and CSU-Pueblo was 21-for-30 (70%). The Pack lost the rebounding battle 47-31, which included allowing 14 offensive rebounds, which translated into 15 second-chance points. The Eagles also won the paint by the score of 34-18.
• Freshman
Tyson Gilbert finished with a season-high 23 points. He shot 6-for-10 (60%) from the field, went 4-of-7 (57.1%) from long range and hit on 7-of-9 (77.8%) of his free throws. The point guard also added five rebounds in 33 minutes played.
• Redshirt-junior
Donovan Oldham scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half. He tied for the team lead with six rebounds. Center
Jason Anderson also gathered six rebounds, while he totaled 12 points and a dished out a team-best three assists.
• Against the Roadrunners, the ThunderWolves shot 41.8 percent from the field, but allowed the Roadrunners to connect on 52.9 percent of their shots, which included a 58.3 percentage in the first half. CSU-Pueblo was outrebounded 41-21, which included allowing seven offense boards MSU Denver was able to convert into 16 second chance points. The Pack limited turnovers to eight, while forcing 13 giveaways by the visiting team and cashing in on 20 points off turnovers. The inside game was even at 26-26 in the category of points in the paint.
• Redshirt-sophomore
Jordan Phillips led the team with 14 points in 25 minutes. He was 6-for-11 (54.5%) from the field with a pair of 3-pointers. He added four rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
Anderson totaled 11 points with a team-high six rebounds. He added two blocks and an assist. Off the bench, redshirt-freshman
Dalen Jackson dropped 12 points in 10 minutes on 4-of-5 (80%) shooting. Gilbert had five of the team's nine assists.
THE PACK
• The Pack are 3-9 at home this season.
• The ThunderWolves lost to the Cowboys in the RMAC opener Dec. 1 in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Jordan Phillips scored 21 points in the loss.
Jason Anderson had 15 points and seven rebounds.
• CSU-Pueblo owns 3.2 blocks per game to rank tied for fourth in the league, while its 87 total blocks is alone in fourth.
• The ThunderWolves have knocked down 243 3-pointers to rank fifth in the RMAC, while their 9.0 3-pointers per game is sixth.
• The Pack are scoring 73.4 points per game, but allowing 82.1 points per contest this season, which ranks tied for second to last in the league.

Donovan Oldham leads the team with 12.8 points per game. He is shooting 85.0 percent from the charity stripe to sit fourth in the RMAC. He went 12-for-12 from the line against Arkansas-Fort Smith to tie for first in the league this season with the most free throws made while posting a perfect percentage.

Jason Anderson is second on the team with 11.0 points per game. He is shooting at a 54.8 percent clip this season. His 5.1 rebounds per game is a team best. Anderson also leads the team in blocks with 20 and has 0.8 blocks per game to rank 12th in the conference.
• Redshirt-senior
Gavin Liggett has dropped a team-best 48 3-pointers. He attempted 17 3-pointers at Westminster to have the second most attempts in a game by a member of the RMAC this season. He hit eight of those 17 attempts.
• Junior
Harvey Barr has 19 blocks this season to rank 14th in the conference (0.8 rpg). His five blocks against Dixie State ranks tied for the second most by an RMAC player this season.
• Freshman
Tyson Gilbert dished out 10 assists at Dixie State to post the second most assists in a game by a member of the RMAC this season. He leads the team with 2.4 assists per game.
• Sophomore
Corey Seng recorded three straight double-doubles from Dec. 14-Jan. 4. In those three games he averaged 13 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while shooting 48.3 percent from the field. He pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds against Colorado Christian, while his 17 points against Westminster was just shy of a career-high (18 points last season). He adds 7.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game this season.
• Head Coach
Ralph Turner is in his eighth season as bench boss of the Pack and owns a 117-107 (.522) overall record. He coached his 200th game as a member of the ThunderWolves Nov. 24 against Lubbock Christian.
THE COWBOYS
• The Cowboys are 18-9 overall with a 13-8 RMAC record that has them tied for sixth th in the league standings. NMHU has already secured their place in the RMAC Tournament, but are just a game out of fourth and won't fall any lower than seventh. The Cowboys took care of MSU Denver (103-69) and Chadron State (97-91) last weekend.
• The team is 6-6 on the road this season.
• New Mexico Highlands ranks first in the RMAC and 20th nationally with 87.2 points per game. The Cowboys allow 81.4 points per game for a +5.8 scoring margin that sits third in the conference.
• NMHU leads the conference and sits 19th nationally in steals with 241 (8.9 spg), while its +6.4 turnover margin ranks third in NCAA Division II. The Cowboys' 1.1 assist/turnover margin ranks tied for third in the RMAC.
• The Cowboys lead the RMAC and rank 24th in DII with 10.7 3-pointers per game. Their 288 total 3-pointers this season is 18th nationally.
• The Cowboys rank second in the league in free throw percentage (75.1%) and fourth in field goal percentage (47.2%). The team is third in blocked shots with 3.6 swats per game.
• NMHU is last in the RMAC in rebounding margin at -6.5.
• Gerad Davis ranks tied for second in the RMAC with 20.8 points per game, while Raquan Mitchell adds 19.8 points per contest to sit fourth.
• Davis ranks 19th in Division II with 204 field goals made. His 562 total points sits 25th nationally. Davis owns a 51.8 percentage from the field to rank sixth in the conference, while his 83.9 free throw percentage is seventh. He gets it done on the defensive end to lead the RMAC with 2.0 steals per game.
• Mitchell has 3.3 3-pointers per game to rank 15th nationally. He is 11th in 3-pointers made with 90 and sixth in DII with 239 3-point field goal attempts. His 37.7 percent shooting from long range is good for third in the RMAC. Mitchell is tied for fifth in the RMAC with 1.6 steals per game, a spot he shares with teammate Desmond Carpenter.
• Nnamdi Okoro ranks third in the RMAC with 7.4 rebounds per game, while his 1.2 blocks per game is also third. He leads the league with 2.8 offensive rebounds per game. Okoro contributes 9.8 points per game.
• Jordan Jones adds 12.5 points per game and sits tied for seventh in the league with 1.4 steals per contest.
