ALAMOSA, Colo. (Feb. 23, 2019) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women's track and field programs each celebrated an individual and a relay championship on the final day of the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Champions in Alamosa, Colorado. The women's team finished fourth.
The women's 4x400m relay squad was crowned RMAC Champions, as the grouping of Tatianna Clanton (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), Hailey Streff (So., Madison, S.D.), Yasmine Hernandez (So., Johnstown, Colo.) and Lauren Fairchild (Jr., McKinney, Texas) posted a time of 3:54.38 to claim the title.
Junior Jenna McKinley (Mosca, Colo.) hurled a personal best in the shot put, as her NCAA provisional throw of 14.07m earned her the RMAC Championship and 10 team points.
The women compiled 74 points for the Championships to place fourth out 12 teams. The Pack were just six points out of third.
The same four men who won the distance medley relay team Friday night ran and won the 4x400m relay for their second RMAC Championship of the weekend. The squad was made up of freshman Patrick Scoggins (Rangley, Colo.), senior Shawn Horn (Camp Casey, South Korea), senior Devundrick Walker (Aurora, Colo.) and junior Thomas Staines (Colorado Springs, Colo.). The squad ran to a time of 10:13.92.
Sophomore RJ Ramirez (Henderson, Colo.) was crowned RMAC Champion in the 60m dash with his time of 6.87. The personal best time also was an NCAA provisional mark.
Senior Tevin Donnell (Fountain, Colo.) was seventh in the 60m race to add two team points to the Pack's total. He finished the run in 6.87.
Ramirez scored two more points when he finished seventh in the 200m dash with a time of 22.50.
Senior Jacob Smith (Strasburg, Colo.) moved up from 12th to eighth on Saturday to score a team point for the Pack. He finished with 4,329 points.
The men were eighth with 35 points.
The ThunderWolves women gathered 13 points from the triple jump with three in the top seven. Newcomer Reagan Andrews (San Pedro, Calif.) finished runner-up with an NCAA provisional mark of 12.11m. Emma Sommer (Fr., Cologne, Germany) was sixth and junior Lydia Pavlenko (Portland, Ore.) was seventh, as they both recorded a mark of 11.46m.
Clanton ran to a runner-up finish in the 200m dash when she crossed the finish line in 24.75 for an NCAA provisional mark.
Pavlenko found her way to the podium in her first RMAC Championship meet, as she placed third in the high jump when she posted a top leap of 1.62m.
Clanton was fourth in the 60m dash with her time of 7.67, which was an NCAA provisional mark. She helped the team to 26 points during the weekend.
Hernandez scored four points for the Pack when she finished fifth in the 800m run with a time of 2:18.37.
Finally, freshman Claire Pauley (Arvada, Colo.) ran to eighth in the 3000m run with a time of 10:51.96.
