ThunderWolves open RMAC play Sunday, Monday at UCCS

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 23, 2019) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team will begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this week with a four game series at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs beginning Sunday with a twin bill starting at 12 p.m. at Mountain Lion Field.

The Pack (1-3) open conference play after finishing a nonconference schedule where CSU-Pueblo competed at the Courtyard Classic hosted by Dixie State. CSU-Pueblo defeated Hawai'i-Hilo 3-1 on opening day.

At the Courtyard Classic, four Pack players hit a homerun and senior Michaela Burpee (Union City, Calif.) added five hits in four games.

In the circle, freshman Taylor Strupp (San Tan Valley, Ariz.) leads the team with three appearances and has recorded three strikeouts.

SETTING THE STAGE

Last season CSU-Pueblo lost four games at home against the Mountain Lions.

UCCS Mountain Lions (4-8)

            Last time on the field: UCCS lost three-of-four games at the OCU/UCO Invite in Edmond, Okla. The Mountain Lions are led offensively by Rayle Glover with a .389 average. In the circle the Mountain Lions are guided by Cami Duffey (2-2, 6.89 ERA).

ON DECK FOR THE THUNDERWOLVES

CSU-Pueblo will play in its first of three pod series' of the season. The Pack will take on Regis and Black Hills State.
