PUEBLO, Colo. (Feb. 21, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis team is off to the University of Texas-Permian Basin Invite Feb. 22-23 for four matches against regional competition.
The ThunderWolves will play St. Mary's University Friday at 8 a.m. in Midland, Texas and then move on to battle Western New Mexico University at 1 p.m. Saturday begins at 8 a.m. with St. Edward's University and concludes with host UTPB at 1 p.m. All times listed as mountain.
The ThunderWolves are 0-2 this spring season and 0-4 overall, as they really get the season started after a pair of match ups with NCAA Division I competition. To start the spring the Pack played University Northern Colorado and Air Force Academy.

Nia Matthews (Houston, Texas) leads the team with four singles wins and was named Preseason All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The pair of Matthews and sophomore
Kali Hamilton (Grapevine, Texas) have a doubles victory this year.
St. Mary's ranked No. 21 in the Feb. 20 rankings released by the ITA. The squad is 2-1 this season with wins against Laredo CC ( 7-0) and Angelo State (6-1) and a loss to Tarleton State (5-2). Afte the fall season the ITA released individual rankings and placed Ally Maciel as the No. 38 singles player in NCAA Division II.
Western New Mexico is 4-3 this season after winning their first three matches of the spring. In St. George, Utah last weekend the Mustangs faced the other three RMAC teams and defeated Colorado Mesa 4-3 and fell to Dixie State (6-1) and MSU Denver (4-3).
St. Edward's is 2-1 this season and ranks No. 4 in the ITA South Central Region rankings, announced Jan. 16. The Hilltoppers last competed against Angelo State last weekend and fell by the score of 4-3.
The host Falcons are 3-7 this season, which includes defeating CSU-Pueblo earlier this season in Pueblo by the score of 4-3. UTPB is 1-5 in the spring, as it lost five straight before defeating Collin County CC 5-2 Feb. 17.
