COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 11, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's tennis team traveled to the US Air Force Academy to play a neutral contest against Division I Abilene Christian University. The ThunderWolves suffered a clean sweep against a strong Texas tennis program, losing out 7-0. 

The 8 a.m. match start time commenced with the doubles kicking off the day. Regionally ranked doubles pairing of Edward Cooper (Fr., Bolton, UK) and Daniel Garcia (Jr., Riverside, Calif.) lost 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. At the No. 2 position, Cade Boedeker (So., Fort Worth, Texas) and Richard Garcia (Fr., Surrey, UK) could only be separated by their Firestorm opponents from a single break of serve at 5-4, conceding the match 6-4. At the No. 3 position, the senior European pair of James Ryan (Rustington, Sussex, UK) and Ogulcan Deniz (Istanbul, Turkey) fell short in a 6-2 defeat to a very strong serving match up. 
ACU clinched the lone doubles point. 1-0. 

The top 4 singles matches went out onto court to begin singles play. At the No. 1 spot, Jonathan Sheehy proved too strong for D. Garcia in the tricky altitude conditions. Next to finish was Turkey native, Deniz, at the No. 3 position against Riley Tran (ACU), falling short 6-1, 6-2. At No. 4, Ryan took an early 4-1 lead but couldn't close the set out against Sebastian Langdon, 6-4, 6-1. Cooper battled at No. 2 singles serving very well, but struggled to find a break in both sets, losing 6-4, 6-3. R. Garcia, followed the first wave of matches, putting in a strong performance at No. 5, but couldn't prevail over Joaquin Delgado. Finally, at the No. 6 position, Boedeker, finished a strong second set, but didn't find enough to beat Akinori Wada, 6-1, 6-4. 

Pack men's tennis finished the match losing 7-0. 

The ThuderWolves record is 0-3 in spring season play. 

The Pack will make the three hour road-trip to University Northern Colorado Feb. 16 at 11:30 a.m. Followed by a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader against Southern Utah University.
