ThunderWolves tamed by Tigers 153-128

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (December 7, 2019) – In their last dual of 2019, Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving lost to Colorado College 153-128 Saturday at the Schlessman Natatorium.
 
The Pack picked up the win in the meet's first event, the 200 Medley Relay. Jillian Abrian, Kate Miller, McKenna Hauber, and Rashelle Freeman took first with a time of 1:54.91. They won by .11 seconds.
 
Abrian (Fr., Ladera Ranch, Calif.) also gave the Pack its second win of the day. Her time of 1:04.89 landed her first in the 100 Back. She claimed second in the 200 Back (2:19.32).
 
The ThunderWolves swept both Breaststroke events. Miller (Jr., Draper, Utah)  won the 100 Breast in a time of 1:09.68. Kristen Wolf (Fr., Topeka, Kan.) placed second with a mark of 1:15.24.
 
Wolf seized first place in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:38.93. Miller snagged second place with a mark of 2:39.10
 
The Pack went 1-2-3 in the 50 Free. Phoebe Pontious (Sr., Caledonia, Mich.) sprinted to first with a time of 25.04. Selina Wang (Fr., Taipei, Taiwan) took second (25.43). Julia Whitfield (So., Wichita, Kan.)  finished third (25.93).
 
Wang returned to win the 100 Free. Her time of 55.54 edged out the second place Pontious by just .04 seconds. Pontious also earned second place in the 100 Fly (1:02.69).
 
Hauber (Fr., Gillette, Wyo.) emerged victorious in the 500 Free. Her time of 5:28.81 beat the closest Tiger by over eight seconds. Hauber also placed second in the 200 Free (2:03.25) and the 200 IM (2:19.77).
 
Alyssa Grunloh (So., Round Rock, Texas) was the Pack's top finisher in the 200 Fly (2:26.55). Freeman (Fr., Temecula, Calif.) came in third in the 500 Free (5:45.68).

Holly Humphries (Fr., Cypress, Texas) was the Pack's top finisher in both diving events. Humphries scored 215.85 points to place fourth in the one meter dive. She took fifth in the three meter dive (189.68).
 
The Pack will take a break for the holidays. They will return to competition Saturday Jan. 4 when they travel to New Mexico State University.
