GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (November 20, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving started the A3 Performance Invite with a bang as the Pack set a school record Wednesday at the El Pomar Natatorium.
The Pack shattered their school record in the 200 Free Relay. CSU-Pueblo's team of
Phoebe Pontious, Jillian Abrian, Julia Whitfield, and
Selina Wang posted a time of 1:37.00. This beat the previous school record by 1.2 seconds.
This school record launched the Pack finished to a fifth place finish at the event. They scored 28 points for their effort.
Pontious (Sr., Caledonia, Mich.) started the race with a split of 24.35. Abrian (Fr., Ladera Ranch, Calif.) followed with a 24.83 split. Whitfield swam a school record split of 23.84. Wang closed out the race with a time of 23.98.
Mckenna Hauber (Fr., Gillette, Wyo.) took ninth in the 1000 Free. She swam a personal best time of 10:57.38.
The Pack also finished ninth in the 200 Medley Relay.
Bristyn Croswhite (Jr., Tempe, Ariz.),
Kate Miller (Jr., Draper, Utah),
Alyssa Grunloh (So., Round Rock, Texas), and
Vivica Craig (Fr., Las Vegas, Nev.) posted a time of 1:57.84.
Day two of the A3 Performance Invite starts Thursday at the El Pomar Natatorium. The first prelim race starts at 10 a.m.
