GOLDEN, Colo. (November 9, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving went 0-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference duals Saturday. The Pack lost to Colorado School of Mines 187-101 and Western Colorado University 193-101.
Selina Wang (Fr., Taipei, Taiwan) picked up both of the Pack's wins Saturday. Wang took first in the 50 Free (25.16). She also touched the wall in first in the 100 Free with a time of 55.54. In the 200 Free, Wang took third (2:01.77).
Phoebe Pontious (Sr., Caledonia, Mich.) took second in the 100 Free with a time of 55.84.
Julia Whitfield (So., Wichita, Kan.) came in second in the 50 Free (25.58).
Sarah Steele (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) placed second in both diving events. Steele scored 151.19 points in the three-meter dive. She also posted a score of 317.45 points in the one-meter dive.
Kari Yamada (Jr., Vacaville, Calif.) took third place on the one-meter dive with 262.86 points. She recorded a score of 123.44 points on the three-meter dive on her way to a third place finish.
McKenna Hauber (Fr., Gillette, Wyo.) wound up third in the 500 Free with a time of 5:28.20. Hauber swam her way to a fourth place finish in the 1650 Free (19:25..27).
Jillian Abrian (Fr., Ladera Ranch, Calif.) posted a fourth place finish in the 200 Back with a time of 2:19.44. Abrian also earned a fifth place finish in the 50 Free (25.87).
The team of Pontious,
Rashelle Freeman (Fr., Temecula, Calif.), Whitfield, and Wang finished second in the 400 Free Relay. They finished in a time of 3:44.13, just .14 seconds off the first place Orediggers.
CSU-Pueblo now stands 2-4 in duals with a 1-4 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference competition. The Pack will compete again Nov. 20-23 in the A3 Performance Invite in Grand Junction, Colo.
