PUEBLO, Colo. (October 6, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer dropped a hard-fought 2-0 match to the hands of Regis University Sunday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
Pack freshman
Vinzent Zingel (Aachen, Germany) led the team with four shots with one on frame.
Josua Hall (Fr., Baiersbronn, Germany) and
Marvin Zajonz (Jr., Reutlingen, Germany) each finished with two shots in the match.
In the first half, the Rangers got off the first shot of the game and was quickly followed by a Pack shot attempt.
The ThunderWolves' got their first good look at the net, firing a shot on goal in the 17' that had the Regis goalkeeper making a diving save.
CSU-Pueblo put up back-to-back shots on frame during the 34' and 35' on shots from
Richard Panknin (Jr., Sassnitz, Germany) and
Michael Chism (R-Sr., Littleton, Colo.).
At the half, both teams recorded six shots and RU led 3-2 in corners.
The Rangers broke the scoreless affair in the 54' after creating three corner kick tries and converting on the third corner attempt.
The Pack kept the pressure on the Rangers defense and would manage four shots during the last thirty minutes of action.
CSU-Pueblo fired two shots on goal to keep the RU goalkeeper alert and made him make two saves.
Regis added to its lead in the 81' following a foul near midfield and the Rangers drove the ball down the left side of the field and booted a ball inside the left post for a 2-0 lead.

Tyler Harvey (Sr., Henderson, Nev.) faced 15 shots and made five saves at the net.
CSU-Pueblo (2-8, 2-4 RMAC) stays home next week and welcomes MSU Denver Friday at 7 p.m. and Colorado Christian (Oct. 13) at 12 p.m., both matches at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium
