ThunderWolves celebrate Senior Day against Dixie State

Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. (October 27, 2019) - Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer wrapped its home schedule and celebrated Senior Day Sunday, falling 3-2 against Dixie State in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The Pack goals were scored by Cameron Campbell (Sr., Laramie, Wyo.) and Joe McKee (Sr., Plano, Tex.).

Prior to the match, CSU-Pueblo head coach Roy Stanley and his staff honored ten seniors on the roster who were playing in their final home games as members of the Pack.

In the game, the ThunderWolves put up eleven shots against ten for the Trailblazers.

CSU-Pueblo was guided by Campbell's three shots.

DSU finished with a 5-3 advantage in corners.

Starting the match, the Pack quickly gained possession in Dixie State side of the field in the third minute of action and Campbell took a pass from Vinzent Zingel (Fr., Aachen, Germany) and hit a one-timer in to the back of the net for an early one goal lead.

Dixie evened the score in the tenth minute off a corner kick.

The score stayed 1-1 going to halftime. At the break, Dixie led 6-4 in shots and recorded one corner kick.

In the final period, the Pack fired two shots in the opening three minutes and earned a corner kick.

Dixie took the lead in the 67' on a header goal that got past the defense.

The Trailblazers scored again in the 84' to take a two goal lead.

McKee got himself in the stat sheet in the 87' and got the Pack to within one after he flicked in a deflected ball while inside the box. Michael Chism (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) and Malte Ruether (So., Bornheim, Germany) were credited with assists on the play.

The last stitch effort by the Pack to get even fell short as time expired.

Pack goalkeeper Tyler Harvey (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) made three saves on eleven Trailblazer shots.

CSU-Pueblo (6-10, 6-6 RMAC) sit in seventh place in the RMAC standings heading in to the final week of the regular season. The ThunderWolves will go on the road and play Friday at Adams State and will face Fort Lewis Sunday in the regular season finale.
