CSU-Pueblo drops RMAC opener versus Adams State

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 15, 2017) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team early season woes continued Friday falling to Adams State University 1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

CSU-Pueblo started the match trading possession early on with the visiting Grizzlies.

Through the first half the teams exchanged four shots apiece and ASU held a 4-1 corner kick advantage before heading into the break scoreless.

In the second period Adams State netted the only score of the game in the 60th minute on a chip in by ASU.

The Pack was lead by Santiago Tinta (Jr., Quito, Ecuador) and Protus Babaya (Fr., Elk River, Minn.) with three shots each at the net.

CSU-Pueblo goalkeeper Erich Frey (R-Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) made one save and faced eight shots in the match by the Grizzlies.

CSU-Pueblo (0-5) will look for its first win Sunday when Fort Lewis comes to the pitch; kickoff with the Skyhawks is set for 2:30 p.m. following the women's game at noon at Gonzales Stadium.
