ThunderWolves season ends with 1-0 defeat at Regis

DENVER, Colo. (October 28, 2017) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss Saturday on the road at Regis University in the regular season finale.

The Pack entered the final game in a three-team hunt for the final RMAC Tournament berth and needed a win and a couple scenarios to fall in their favor to clinch.

Regis scored in the games' eighth minute after a penalty kick was awarded to the home team putting the Rangers on top 1-nil.

CSU-Pueblo shot it first attempt in the 18th minute and had two good looks at the net minutes later on shots from Miles Sanchez (So., Bothell, Wash.) and Lorenz Delaney (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.).

The Pack earned two corners to Regis' four and fired six first half shots at the net and three on goal in the period.

Entering the final half, the ThunderWolves battled and had their best look at the net on a Santiago Tinta (Jr., Quito-Ecuador) shot that was saved by RU's goalkeeper.

For the game the ThunderWolves finished with thirteen shots and seven on goal led by Sanchez's five shots.

Pack goalkeeper Erich Frey (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) made eight saves on 22 shots from the Rangers in his final outing.

CSU-Pueblo ends the season with a 3-11-4 record.
