PUEBLO, Colo. (February 5, 2016) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team has announced its class of 2016 with five student-athletes electing to further their educational and soccer careers as members of the ThunderWolves.
The new class boasts student-athletes from Colorado who will begin their collegiate careers in August, head coach Paul Regrutto announced.
"This is a great class. I'm really excited that the five of them have decided to join us. They are all local products that know a lot about our program, and understand the direction we are going. Each of them has distinct soccer strengths that will improve our team, but they will also represent our program in a first class manner in the community and the classroom."
Two of the signees include Emily Troscher (Falcon, Colo.) and Jordan McQuesten (Falcon, Colo.) teammates at Falcon High School and the Corinthians AC Gold Impact 99' club team.
In three seasons at Falcon Troscher netted 25 goals and 9 assists in 42 games played. She earned second team all-conference in 2015 and honorable mention in 2014 and was named team captain for two seasons.
Troscher is the daughter of Frank Troscher and Rene Baker-Troscher, and has two sisters, Stephanie and Caroline.
McQuesten earned all-conference recognition two years in a row and was named second team all-state in 2014. She tallied 61 points, scoring 24 goals and 13 assists in 28 games played.
She is the daughter of Jonathan and Jennette McQuesten.
Competing for the Corinthians AC Gold Impact 99' club team under the direction of head coach Nick Sallecchia, the squad is currently ranked third in the state.
The next signee is a 5-foot-4 forward, Angelica Bader (Colorado Springs, Colo.). Playing at Rampart High School, Bader netted eleven goals and two assists in 26 games played.
Bader is the daughter of James and Maureen Harrington and has one sister, Arianna.
Pueblo product Justine Martinez led the Centennial Bulldogs to back-to-back South Central League titles, scoring 69 goals in three seasons along with 61 assists. She earned first team all-conference three times and is a two time all-state nominee.
She is the daughter of Johnny and Daphne Martinez and has two siblings, Lyric and Ivory.
Teammates with Pride Copa 98' club team under the direction of Craig Decker, Bader and Martinez led the team to a second place finish in both the President's Cup and Player's Cup.
The final signee is goalkeeper Rylie Martin (Colorado Springs, Colo.). Playing for Rampart HS, Martin twice was named team captain, making 215 saves and allowed 57 goals at the net. She earned all-conference accolades three times including first team recognition in 2015. Martin earned all-conference award for most saves in 2014.
She is the daughter of David Martine and Diane Thiessens.
"This is a young class, with no transfers, but I know that they will come ready to play in the fall. They expect to challenge for playing time next year and I expect them to as well. I'm looking forward to seeing what the fall brings."
