GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team opens Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this week on the road, Friday at Colorado School of Mines, followed by a match Sunday at Colorado Christian University.
The Pack fell out of the Top 25 this week following a 1-1 record at home a week ago versus No. 24 Northeastern State and No. 12 Fort Hays State.
CSU-Pueblo (3-1-0) earned the win Friday 2-1 against the RiverHawks in the home season opener. Zach Davis (R-So., D, Tucson, Ariz.) and Sam Glawe (Sr., D, Allen, Tex.) each tallied goals in the win.
Sunday against the Tigers of Fort Hays State, the Pack battled for much of the game, holding a 1-0 lead at the half, before surrendering two second half goals.
Pack forward Matt Marchena (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) scored the lone Pack goal, his first of the season.
Goalkeeper Sam Haseltine (Sr., St. Louis, Mo.) allowed three goals in two games, making eight saves. He faced 28 shots by the opponents, earning a weekend goal against average of 1.50.
CSU-Pueblo is 9-32-4 all time against Colorado School of Mines including 0-8-2 in the last ten meetings against the Orediggers. Versus the Cougars, the ThunderWolves are 37-10-3 all time with a 9-1-0 record in the last ten games.
