ThunderWolves fall 21-12 in dual at Central Oklahoma

EDMOND, OK (February 6, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo wrestling team fell in its final NCAA Division II dual Friday when it traveled to No. 12 University of Central Oklahoma and lost 21-12.  

The ThunderWolves are now 8-8 in duals this season and wrap the regular season Saturday with a meeting at Oklahoma City University.

The Pack owned a 9-3 lead against the Broncos with wins at 125, 141 and 149. Junior Alex Baca (Pueblo, Colo.) picked up a 5-2 decision at 125 to win his fourth match in the last five duals. Senior Eric Hughes (133, Bolivar, Mo.) battled with No. 5 Dustin Reed, but fell 12-8.

A 10-5 decision by junior Tim Urenda (Pueblo, Colo.) at 141 gave the Pack a 6-3 lead, then a 6-5 win by senior Dillon Karajanis (Cheyenne, Wyo.) at 149 lifted the lead to 9-3.

Unfortunately, the ThunderWolves lost the next five matches and trailed 21-9 before senior heavyweight Niko Bogojevic (Superior, Wis.) won 5-2.
