COLORADO SPRINGS (October 4, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team fell 2-1 at UC-Colorado Springs Sunday. Jack Gonzales (Sr., D, Centennial, Colo.) scored his first goal of the season guiding the Pack.
The Mountain Lions connected on the games' first goal in the 35th minute, taking a 1-0.
In the final moments of the first half, Gonzales kicked in a ball from eight yards out knotting the game at one going into halftime.
UCCS took an 8-4 shot attempt lead through the first half and held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
"I think we had more of the ball but have to create better chances from those possessions," said Pack head coach Roy Stanley.
In the final period the Mountain Lions scored what proved to be the game winner in the 80th minute on a goal from UCCS J.R. Calhoun.
Pack goalkeeper Sam Haseltine (Sr., St. Louis, Mo.) made four saves at goal.
CSU-Pueblo (5-5-0, 1-3-0 RMAC) returns home Friday as they welcome Fort Lewis College to Pueblo. Kickoff with the Skyhawks is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Soccer Stadium.
