CSU-Pueblo opens regular season at home Friday

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 11, 2014) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's soccer team return to the friendly confines of the Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium in Pueblo, making their 2014 regular season home debut following the women's game on Friday evening against West Texas A&M, kickoff is scheduled for 8 pm.  The men's squad will wrap up the weekend with a Sunday tilt against Texas Permian-Basin, scheduled for a 12 p.m. start.

The Roy Stanley-led Pack (0-2) returns home after a tough two games last weekend on the road in Hays, Kansas where they dropped a Friday night contest 2-1 against host-Fort Hays State.  In the final game on Sunday of the short road trip, saw CSU-Pueblo surrender a lone goal early in the second half against Lubbock Christian, losing 1-0.

  • The Pack enters the weekend seeking their first win of the season.
  • In the 2013 regular season opener, CSU-Pueblo dropped a 2-0 contest against the same Buffaloes of West Texas A&M, and a 6-3 loss against Texas-Permian Basin, both games were played on the road.

The Pack will hit the road for one game next Friday afternoon to open their Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schedule at Regis; kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.  They will return home on Sunday, September 21st to take on Colorado Mines in Pueblo at the Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium, scheduled for 1 p.m.
