ThunderWolves drop game against UCCS

BY Andres Madrid

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - (GoThunderWolves.com - May 2, 2014) - The CSU-Pueblo softball team had little answers to a strong overall performance by UC-Colorado Springs, dropping the second round game 12-1 in six innings.

The Pack was held to just three hits in the game, all singles, posing very little threat against Mountain Lions starting pitcher Stephanie Chitkowski.

CSU-Pueblo scored their lone run of the game in the third inning on a sacrafice flyout by Lacey Chesser (Sr., Oxnard, Calif.), scoring Alexa Snyder (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) who led off the inning with an infield single.

UCCS used a big sixth inning to break the game open, scoring six runs on eight hits.

CSU-Pueblo (27-20) will next play this afternoon when they tangle with Adams State at 1 pm.

The Grizzlies of Adams State knocked off the tournament host Colorado Mesa 14-9 on Thursday evening, eliminating them from the field.
