Pack lives up to 'road warriors' moniker, routs Western New Mexico

SILVER CITY, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 1, 2014) - CSU-Pueblo saw its road record improve to a stellar 7-2 as it routed Western New Mexico 84-59.

The ThunderWolves never trailed as it opened up a 12-2 lead to start the game and led by double-digits nearly the rest of the way.  CSU-Pueblo built up a lead of as much as 32 in the second half, shooting solidly at a 61 percent clip as it dominated in all phases of the game.

The Pack was led by Matt Rosenbaum (Sr., Sidney, Neb.), who flirted with 20 points for the second straight night, scoring 18 to lead all scorers.  Julian Caldwell (Jr., Ontario, Calif.) followed him up with 17 points, giving him a solid weekend average of 21.5 points per game after netting 26 Friday night.

With the victory, CSU-Pueblo improves to 11-8 overall and 9-6 in conference play, taking over sole possession of fifth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

CSU-Pueblo could move up to third place next weekend when it travels to UC-Colorado Springs to take on the Mountain Lions.
