PHOENIX, Ariz. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 22, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo has ground to make up if it is going to claim its second straight RMAC title, sitting four shots behind Western New Mexico after one round of play at the RMAC Women's Golf Championship.
The ThunderWolves, which won four tournaments so far this season as well as two of three RMAC conference tournaments, shot a respectable team 317, or 29-over-par. The Pack's one-round team total, its lowest since shooting a 316 in the first round of the ThunderWolf Invitational April 6, is the 7th-lowest individual round team score of the season and its second-lowest of the spring portion of its schedule. However, Western New Mexico did even better by reporting its third-lowest team round of the season.
The Pack was led by Leina Kim (RFr., Saipan, CNMI), who is sitting in sixth place with a 5-over-par 77, four shots out of first. Michaela Breit (Jr., Greeley, Colo.) is one shot behind with a 6-over-par 78, sitting in eighth place. Both Domi Dinallo (Jr., Elephant Butte, N.M.) and Julie Sanchez (So., Pueblo, Colo.) each shot 9-over-par 81s, as each of the Pack's top four sit in 11th or higher.
CSU-Pueblo will attempt the comeback Tuesday at the RMAC Championship continues.
