PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 22, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo dominated Black Hills State Friday as four players scored in double figures in an 84-46 ThunderWolves win, clinching a playoff spot in the process.
CSU-Pueblo never trailed as it jumped out to a 21-9 lead and played relentless throughout, only allowing the Yellow Jackets to get as close as seven points.
CSU-Pueblo followed its typical road to victory, relying on effective three-point shooting and strong defense. The Pack saw Arden Dennis (Sr., Denver, Colo.) go off, nailing four threes and scoring 20 to lead all scorers. Ryan Arel (Sr., Shawnee, Kan.) drained four threes to score 14 while Wendell Lee (Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.) added 13 and Bryse Velasquez (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored 12.
CSU-Pueblo, now 12-13 overall and 11-8 in conference play, has stamped its ticket to the RMAC Tournament for the first time since 2009-10. The Pack will now play for position as it welcomes Chadron State to town Saturday night.
