Arel, ThunderWolves secure win over Black Hills State

SPEARFISH, S.D. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 26, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo again rolled to a dominant win Saturday night, using 23 points from Ryan Arel (Sr., Shawnee, Kan.) as it claimed an 88-74 win over Black Hills State.

Arel sank four three-pointers as he led all Pack scorers in a game that the ThunderWolves never trailed.  The Pack jumped out to an 11-2 lead and rode the advantage to a very successful first half.  The Pack opened up its lead to as much as 26 points as it carried a 47-28 lead into halftime.  Wendell Lee (Jr., Los Angeles, Calif.) was the dominant presence in the first half for the Pack, turning in 11 points and six rebounds en route to his 15-point night.

With the victory, CSU-Pueblo improves to 8-11 overall and 7-6 in RMAC play as it claims its sixth win in the past eight games.  With the win, the ThunderWolves are sitting securely in a tie for fifth place in the RMAC standings, well inside the borderline for a playoff spot.  The Pack will return home next weekend for a showdown with New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico at Massari Arena.
