Short turnaround hurts Pack on the road against Regis

DENVER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Sep. 16, 2012) - Playing soccer in the RMAC can be a daunting task for any team, especially after a quick turnaround from a hard fought overtime game. The CSU-Pueblo men's soccer team battled hard but fell to #19 Regis, 4-1.

The Rangers wasted little time getting to business putting in a workman-like effort in the first half by scoring three goals. The first goal came 12 minutes into the game on a shot from Adam Tormoehlen with an assist credited to Alex Tarnoczi.

Tarnoczi wasn't finished being a difference-maker in the first half when he scored his fourth goal of the season at 40:00.

Mark Kelly would add to the lead just three minutes later when he scored on a pass from Jason Boyle.

"They were sharper, with both their skills and movements and I thought that was the main thing," coach Roy Stanley said. "I know that physically we suffered from our 110 minute match Friday and that's something we have to be tougher with."

Down three goals at half, the Pack knew they would have to fight hard to lower the deficit. But playing a nationally-ranked opponent on the road is never easy as the Rangers added one last goal on an attempt from Martin Maybin.

Chad Smith (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) would erase the clean sheet from the Rangers goalkeeper when he scored his second goal of the season on an assist from Sam Glawe (Fr., Allen, Texas)

The Pack have a short turnaround when they host these same Rangers Tuesday at Rawlings Soccer Complex. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

"I know we'll respond and play better Tuesday."
