Despite being the two-seed, Pack finishes 8th at tournament.
GOLDEN, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 26, 2012) - Despite two great pitching efforts from Justine Bosio (Jr., Santa Barbara, Calif.), CSU-Pueblo bats were ice cold Thursday, mustering just 11 total hits and two total runs in two games as it was knocked out of the RMAC Tournament.
The ThunderWolves would lose 2-1 to 7-seed Regis before bowing out 3-1 to 6-seed Metro State.
Bosio threw two complete games, allowing just four hits to Regis and nine to Metro, giving up a total of just three earned runs across the two games.
Though the Pack was solid defensively, ineffecitive hitting sank the Pack. Aside from a two-hit game by Sarah Bosshart (Sr., Irvine, Calif.) against Regis and a two-hit performance from Reagan Best (Jr., Greeley, Colo.) in spot duty against Metro State, no other ThunderWolf could put together better than a one-hit game in either showdown.
It ended up being a crazy day at the tournament as both of the tournament's top seeds, CSU-Pueblo and host Colorado School of Mines, each lost its two games to be the first teams ousted from the tournament.
CSU-Pueblo still has a chance for its season to continue, however, as it is hoping for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. It was ranked 5th in the region this week, with eight teams making the field.
