CSU-Pueblo shuts out Black Hills State, walks off Concordia-St. Paul to open season.

PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 17, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo shrugged off the pressure of hosting the season-opening 2012 RMAC / NSIC Crossover Tournament, claiming key wins over Black Hills State and Concordia-St. Paul.
Justine Bosio (Jr., Santa Barbara, Calif.), who was injured for most of the 2011 season, returned with a vengeance Friday, first by facing just 16 batters in five innings of work, blanking Black Hills State 8-0. She struck out seven and allowed a grand total of just two hits in the game.
In the second game, Bosio helped lead a comeback as the ThunderWolves erased a 7-3 deficit to eventually come back to claim an 8-7 win over Concordia-St. Paul. She netted five RBI, including a three-run double in the sixth inning that tied the game up at 7-7 and set the stage for the walk-off win in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The game ended on a hard-hit ball to the shortstop by Carlie Lucas (Sr., Granada Hills, Calif.) with the bases loaded, scoring Lacey Chesser (Jr., Oxnard, Calif.) from third and securing the win for the Pack.
A key performance down the stretch for the ThunderWolves came from Marissa Reyes (So., Santa Paula, Calif.), who came in to pitch in relief with the ThunderWolves trailing 7-3. With two out in the top of the sixth, she promptly stranded two runners on base and ultimately ended the game by striking out three of the four batters she faced, earning the win.
Saturday, CSU-Pueblo has only one game at the RMAC / NSIC Crossover, a showdown with 13th-ranked Minnesota State, which inexplicably went 0-for-2 Friday with losses to RMAC opponents, Adams State and Colorado Mesa. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
