Pack falls to regional-bound Mines

GOLDEN, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 25, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo saw a close game get out of hand Friday, falling to the 23rd-ranked Orediggers from Colorado School of Mines 92-69.

Despite a 19-point night by Kris Lawrie (Sr., Gardena, Calif.) and a career-best 18 points by Ty Trahern (Jr., Kit Carson, Colo.), CSU-Pueblo could only grab a handful of scant leads, its large advantage being two just five minutes into the first half.  Otherwise, Mines held the Pack in check, shooting 63 percent from the field and burying eight three-pointers. Individually, Mines had four players score in double figures, with Gordon Galloway leading the way with a game-high 23 points and 14 rebounds.

CSU-Pueblo will conclude its 2010-11 season Saturday when it travels to Colorado Christian to take on the Cougars.
