CSU-Pueblo's chances for playoffs done with loss.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 18, 2011) - Just when CSU-Pueblo thought it was riding high, Nebraska-Kearney's Mike Dentlinger killed the Pack.
Leading 71-69 with five seconds remaining against Nebraska-Kearney Friday, a win on the heels of an unlikely comeback seemingly in the Pack's hands, the Lopers hit a three-pointer with zeroes on the board, lifting Nebraska-Kearney to a 72-71 win.
Even worse, the game sank the Pack's hopes for a playoff bid, needing a win over Nebraska-Kearney to grab the eighth and final RMAC playoff spot.
The dagger came after five solid minutes of a frantic comeback, that saw the Pack close a 65-55 deficit with a 12-0 run, which was highlighted by a pair of dunks by Andre Martin and three ThunderWolf steals.
With the game tied at 69, CSU-Pueblo had the final possession, and Nathan Tigner, who had a game-high 23 points, drew a foul on a layup attempt, and promptly hit two free throws that seemingly sealed the game before Dentlinger's heroics.
