Cierra Lard, with the first two batters reaching base safely and
was immediately followed by Bosio who connected with a single up
the middle, scoring Purcell and Annalyse Garcia (Fr., Frederick, Colo.).
One out later Carlie
Lucas (So., Granada Hills, Calif.) singled scoring
Bosio for a 3-0 lead. In the following inning Purcell and
Garcia once again reached safely setting up Bo Nuanez
(Sr., Lafayette, Colo.) who blasted her fourth homerun of
the season, giving CSU-Pueblo a 6-0 lead after two innings.
Pack starting pitcher Kyla
Nelson (So., Lakewood, Calif.) pitched effectively and
was solid in holding the Mavericks to just four runs on seven
hits. The Pack would gather three more runs and would finish
the day with a game two victory 9-4.
The same two teams will battle again tomorrow with another
doubleheader with the first pitch scheduled for 11 am.
