ThunderWolves rule the boards in win over Northern N.M.

CSU-Pueblo 72, Northern New Mexico 52

CSU-Pueblo recorded 52 boards and shot strong on the perimeter against Northern New Mexico, claiming a 72-52 win at the Chuck Stephens Classic Saturday.

The Pack out-boarded the Eagles 52-41, undoing a poor night of shooting for the ThunderWolves - just 35 percent from the field - and claiming a win that was over for all intents and purposes by halftime.

CSU-Pueblo held a 34-19 halftime lead despite shooting just 33 percent from the field.  The Pack built on that as numerous players stepped up and posted career highs.  Donell Wells (Jr., Denver, Colo.) recorded 13 points, one of three ThunderWolves to hit the "unlucky" point total.  Daniel Pierce (Jr, Edgewood, N.M.) drained three three-pointers and posted 13, as did Marc Williams (Sr., Seattle, Wash.), also posting three threes.

CSU-Pueblo will next hit the hardwood Monday when it travels to Denver to take on RMAC foe Regis in a non-conference battle.
