Game 1: CSU-Pueblo
7, UCCS 3
Game 2:
CSU-Pueblo 14, UCCS 1 (5 inn.)
The CSU-Pueblo softball team continued their stellar play and
pitching remained strong as they swept the Saturday's double
header over UC-Colorado Springs.
The Pack claimed game one 7-3 while routing the Mountain Lions
in game two 14-1 in 5 innings.
Game one was all T-Wolves, who got seven runs
on nine hits behind solid pitching from CSU-Pueblo starter
Amber Higby
(Sr., Pueblo, Colo.), who picked up
her sixth win on the year. The T-Wolves' insurance runs
were provided in the fourth on a one-out two-run homer from
Ashley
Aldrich (Sr., Sahuarita, Ariz.), her
third of the year.
Game two picked up exactly where the first left off.
The Pack jumped on UCCS starter Holly Jordan and erupted for 10
runs on nine hits in the first inning alone to pace the
remainder of the quick 5-inning game.
CSU-Pueblo starter Kelsey
Swanberg (Sr., Arvada, Colo.), who was
nothing but dominant, shut down the Mountain Lions to pick up
her fourth win on the season. All but one of the T-Wolf
starters recorded at least one hit to stay in command of the
game and continue on their current five-game winning streak.
The Pack will look to continue the hot streak and go for the
weekend sweep in another doubleheader on Sunday, the first
pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m. for game one, and 1 pm start time
for game two.
